Caribbean Christian Publications is the publisher of Caribbean Bible Lessons --- age-graded Bible study materials for use in Sunday Schools and other church Bible-teaching programmes. What began as an idea at a dinner table in Jamaica 30 years ago has blossomed into the leading Sunday School literature ministry serving Caribbean Churches of many denominations.
The first issue of Caribbean Bible Lessons was published in January 1976. These English language Sunday School lesson materials are produced by Caribbean Christian Publications (CCP) under the sponsorship of the Caribbean Baptist Fellowship (CBF). Up to that time, only materials produced for other cultural settings such as the USA or Great Britain were available in the region. The purpose of the project was to produce age-related, culturally-appropriate, Bible study curriculum guides that addressed spiritual needs and contemporary Caribbean issues in the light of God's Word. From the outset, the literature was written by experienced Caribbean Christians, working under the supervision of editors who are Caribbean nationals or missionaries familiar with the Caribbean culture.
The current Sunday School curriculum guides, called the "Together Series", are used in 27 islands/countries by about 1000 churches, of over 30 denominations. Included are English-language churches in the Spanish-speaking countries of Central America. Distribution exceeds 50,000 pieces per issue.
The director is Gillian Francis of Kingston, Jamaica.
The office was relocated from Jamaica to the USA in 1980 and moved back to a permanent home in Jamaica in 2003.
